• Virtual reality has penetrated in to almost everyone’s life who can afford a smartphone
  • People these days are more aware of what virtual reality is and how does it feel?
  • Researchers have found some interesting things about human behavior and thinking in virtual reality mode

Virtual reality has spread so fast in and across the world. People started using all types of the VR products and even google has started it’s own line of VR products. Virtual reality will take you in to a world created and designed by the humans and it does feel real. Yes, it feels as much as real depending on the VR headset and device you use.

More over in this rapid transforming world things are changing so fast. Everything that comes in to the market is having some effect on the users and people around them. Virtual reality is not an exception for that, researchers found that VR is also causing minute level of damage to the people.

Virtual Reality effects

University of British Columbia from Canada has conducted several real time experiments on the people to find the VR effects. They have taken some people and subjected to some yawning videos. Contagious yawning is the best practice in this type of experiments, hence people are more influenced by these.

When a person is subjected to this type of videos, the person also yawned. The amount of yawn rate is 38% which is inline with the real time rate of 30-60%.

With the social presence the yawn rate will change drastically in real life where as in VR there is no much effect. This indicates that the people are well aware of VR and they don’t consider any people at all in their videos.

Presence of real people

Presence of real people is having more effect in this experiment. where as in virtual reality they are not caring at all. Even with the VR headset on if they notice researcher beside them, they are trying to stop that urge of yawning. Overall the results say that we can’t simulate the challenges in VR to get the actual results.

this type of researches will help to identify how people react to a driver-less car in the traffic and automated drone delivery systems. More companies are using robots as their colleagues, this simulation will help how people will behave with their robot colleagues.
